■ 작가를 말하다.


작품에는 수많은 선 들이그어져 있다. 

작가는 매일 하루도 쉬지 않고 선 긋는 작업을 한다. 

선을 긋는 그 동작 자체에 작가의 의도가 들어있다. 

작가는 선을 긋는 작업을 통하여 중심 잡기를 한다. 

중심 잡기는 작품 속에서도 중심을 찾잡지만 

작가의 신체적 정신적으로도 중심 잡기에 몰두한다. 

그 모습은 종교인들이 수행하는 모습과 흡사하다. 

중심 잡기란 나를 들여다보는 시간이다. 

작가는 관람객에게도 작품을 관람하면서 

자신을 들여다볼 수 있는 시간을 갖기를 바란다. 

최근 가족의 죽음을 경험한 작가는 마지막 숨의 색을 경험하였다. 

그 일을 계기로 숨에 물 들어 있는 생명의 색을 찾아 그리기 시작하였다. 

시시각각 변해가는 생명들은 다양한 색의 숨을 내쉬고 있다. 

여기서 말하는 생명이란 자연도 사람도 사물도 될 수 있는 것이다. 

모든 것들은 생명력을 내쉬는 숨의 색이 깃들어 있는 것이다. 

“중심”을 잡는 것도 “색의 숨”을 찾는 것도 결국은 자신을 찾아가는 여정인 것이다.
